EcoServ is based on participatory approaches, that is, the various stakeholders are continuously involved in the design, implementation and elaboration of the knowledge needs, system analysis, knowledge provision and co-production of potential future development trajectories.
For this purpose, underlining transdisciplinary cooperation, the EcoServ’s first teacher workshop was organized on April 19, 2023, with an emphasis on sustainable cooperation between representatives of various professions (biologists, ecologists, economists, geoscientists, sociologists, lawyers, cultural scientists, management, tourism, data science specialists, etc.) is the establishment of cooperation and the creation of a joint base of knowledge during the implementation of the project.
During the workshop, the EcoServ team presented the basic concept of ecosystem services, the necessity and importance of transdisciplinary cooperation to about thirty specialists from various universities and research centers. With the active involvement of the participants, the main challenges of managing ecosystem services, the existing issues in Armenia, possible ways to solve them and priority actions were discussed.
At the end of the workshop were presented the opportunities for further cooperation within the scope of the Ecoserv project.
